Swedish producer’s Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom (better known as Dada Life) are some of the most rambunctious individuals in electronic music. The duo was ranked #39 by DJ Mag’s Top 100 in October of 2011, marking their rise to stardom after years of small side projects and opening for DJ great Tiesto during his Kaleidoscope World Tour in 2009. Dada Life is know for their high energy sets and their odd affinity for bananas and champagne, as they are always drinking bottles of champagne, chomping on bananas, and throwing large inflatable versions of each into the audience. At the 2011 Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas Dada Life even brought a 35-piece marching band for their performance of “White Noise Red Meat.” The Dada Life philosophy is as follows: “We are Dada Life. Destroy dance music and have fun. Don’t look back in the past. Always go forward. Don’t think too much. Always follow the money. Do the Dada. The result? Big tunes, no frills.”
Dada’s new track “Kick Up the Epic Motherfucker” is a manifestation of this Dada-losophy, as it features huge beats, raunchy synths, and, like many of Dada’s tracks, lyrics that don’t make a whole lot of sense.
